School Administration

The first priority of every administrator, teacher, and staff member at CMS is to facilitate the success and growth of every student who enters our hallways. Meet Our Team

Mr. Beckett has served as a middle school educator for over 20 years. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in special education from Marshall University. He later earned his post-master’s certificate in administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mr. Beckett lives in Hanover County with his wife, Missy, and his daughter, Audrey.

Jon Patterson
Mr. Jon Patterson
Assistant Principal

Mr. Patterson is in his 19th year of education! He earned a bachelor’s degree from Longwood College and a master’s in administration and supervision from VCU. Before joining the CMS team, Mr. Patterson served as assistant principal at Patrick Henry High School and an additional nine years in administration is Spotsylvania County. He currently resides in Hanover County with his wife and two children.

Andrea Herndon
Mrs. Andrea Herndon
Assistant Principal

Mrs. Herndon earned her bachelor's degree from Radford University in political science. She later earned a master's degree in education (also from Radford University) and an education specialist certificate in administration and supervision from the University of Virginia. Before coming to Chickahominy Middle School, Mrs. Herndon served as an administrator at Radford University, taught sixth and seventh grades in Floyd County, and served as a classroom teacher and senior teacher at Chickahominy. Outside of school she enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her husband, Craig.

Stacy Stanford
Mrs. Stacy Stanford
Senior Teacher, Grades 6 and 7

Mrs. Stanford earned a bachelor’s degree, majoring in Spanish, from Virginia Commonwealth University; a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Averett University; and her post-master's certificate in administration and supervision from Longwood University. Mrs. Stanford has served students at Hanover in a variety of capacities. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Robby, and her young children. She also loves visiting the beach, cooking, and being outdoors.

Allyson Bruhn
Ms. Allyson Bruhn
Senior Teacher, Grades 7 and 8

Ms. Bruhn earned her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and later her master’s in curriculum and instruction with a certificate in admin and supervision from the University of Richmond. Prior to coming to Chickahominy, she has spent her career at the high school level in both Henrico and Hanover teaching social studies. Outside of school Ms. Bruhn enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, and going to concerts.

Jill Godard
Mrs. Jill Godard
Senior Teacher, Special Education

Mrs. Godard earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Marymount University. She later earned her post-master’s certificate in administration and supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to her current position as a senior teacher for special education, Mrs. Godard served for 11 years as a special education classroom teacher. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She also loves running, swimming, and spending time at the beach.
