School Administration

Mr. Mark Beckett
Principal

Mr. Beckett has served as a middle school educator for over 20 years. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in special education from Marshall University. He later earned his post-master’s certificate in administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mr. Beckett lives in Hanover County with his wife, Missy, and his daughter, Audrey.

Mr. Jon Patterson
Assistant Principal

Mr. Patterson has served as an educator for over 20 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Longwood College and a master’s in administration and supervision from VCU. Before joining the CMS team, Mr. Patterson served as assistant principal at Patrick Henry High School and an additional nine years in administration in Spotsylvania County. He currently resides in Hanover County with his wife and two children.

Mr. Matt Vuiller
Assistant Principal

Mr. Vuiller is in his 18th year of education. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Virginia Tech and his master’s degree in administration and supervision from VCU. Mr. Vuiller has held a variety of roles in Hanover County, including teacher, testing coordinator, senior teacher, and assistant principal as well as working with the Virginia Department of Education. Mr. Vuiller lives in Hanover County with his wife and two sons.

Ms. Allyson Bruhn
Senior Teacher, 7th Grade

Ms. Bruhn earned her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and later her master’s in curriculum and instruction with a certificate in admin and supervision from the University of Richmond. Prior to coming to Chickahominy, she has spent her career at the high school level in both Henrico and Hanover teaching social studies. Outside of school Ms. Bruhn enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, and going to concerts.

Mrs. Dianna Dickerson
Senior Teacher, 8th Grade

Mrs. Dickerson received her bachelor's and master's degrees in special education from James Madison University. She later earned a post-master's certificate in administration and supervision from Longwood University. Prior to joining the leadership team, she served as a special education teacher and mathematics teacher. Outside of school, Mrs. Dickerson loves the beach and spending time with her husband and three fur babies.

Mrs. Laura Britt
Senior Teacher, 6th Grade

Mrs. Britt is in her 19th year of education. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Longwood University and a master’s in administration and supervision from Regent University. Mrs. Britt has served as a Professional Learning Coordinator for Hanover. Before joining Hanover, she worked as a classroom math teacher and secondary math coach. She currently resides in Hanover County with her husband, Adam Britt, and their beautifully blended family.

Mrs. Sally Sanders
Senior Teacher, Special Education

Mrs. Sanders earned both her bachelor's degree and master's degree in education from James Madison University. Before coming to Chickahominy Middle School, Mrs. Sanders served as a classroom special education teacher in Hanover County for 12 years, teaching high school mathematics and functional academics. While not in the classroom, she enjoys time with her husband and two younger children. She enjoys being outside and is a huge sports fan. She also enjoys reading, photography, and visiting new places.
