Meet Our Team
Mr. Beckett has served as a middle school educator for over 20 years. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in special education from Marshall University. He later earned his post-master’s certificate in administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mr. Beckett lives in Hanover County with his wife, Missy, and his daughter, Audrey.
Mr. Patterson is in his 20th year of education. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Longwood College and a master’s in administration and supervision from VCU. Before joining the CMS team, Mr. Patterson served as assistant principal at Patrick Henry High School and an additional nine years in administration is Spotsylvania County. He currently resides in Hanover County with his wife and two children.
Dr. Waterford is in her 19th year of education. She graduated from both the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech and refers to herself as a "Hookie". Before joining the team at CMS, she spent 11 years as a Spanish teacher and has been a middle school administrator for the last eight years. She has a Jackapoo named Roman who has a lot of energy and keeps her very active!
Ms. Bruhn earned her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and later her master’s in curriculum and instruction with a certificate in admin and supervision from the University of Richmond. Prior to coming to Chickahominy, she has spent her career at the high school level in both Henrico and Hanover teaching social studies. Outside of school Ms. Bruhn enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, and going to concerts.
Mrs. Dickerson received her bachelor's and master's degrees in special education from James Madison University. She later earned a post-master's certificate in administration and supervision from Longwood University. Prior to joining the leadership team, she served as a special education teacher and mathematics teacher. Outside of school, Mrs. Dickerson loves the beach and spending time with her husband and three fur babies.
Mrs. Vietinghoff earned her bachelor's degree in liberal arts: elementary education with a concentration in mathematics and an algebra endorsement through the University of Virginia's College at Wise. She earned her master's degree in educational leadership/administration from Radford University. Mrs. Vietinghoff has served as a middle school educator for six years. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Justin, and her friends. She also loves traveling, painting, and being outdoors.
Mrs. Sanders earned both her bachelor's degree and master's degree in education from James Madison University. Before coming to Chickahominy Middle School, Mrs. Sanders served as a classroom special education teacher in Hanover County for 12 years, teaching high school mathematics and functional academics. While not in the classroom, she enjoys time with her husband and two younger children. She enjoys being outside and is a huge sports fan. She also enjoys reading, photography, and visiting new places.
